We have a range of designs for small boats and canoes for the DIY builder available as Plans, Kits or Part builds. We will even build your boat for you.

We have pictures of a Winchelsea 8, Winchelsea 10 and a Romney 2.2 taken throughout the build plus there is a link to pictures of a Rye Bay 8 build. These help to show you how things go together.
There is also our FAQ's and a brief explanation of the Stitch & Tape method of boat building - one of the methods used to build our boats.

Also, after being so popular we have made the Free Plans a permanent offer.

We can also supply you with all the materials you will need to build your boat along with accessories such as oars, hatches, an engine or a trailer. (Contact us for a quote for your project).

So, how much will it cost?
This is the question we get asked the most and we have tried to answer as best we can

here.

How long will it take?
The most basic dinghy will take, on average, at least 30hrs to complete for the water, not accounting for drying/curing times. Some DIY builders have done it in less, others in more. A general rule of thumb is that if you want a better looking boat, take your time and don't rush it.
Using fast resin hardener a RYE BAY 10 was built by a first time builder, in warm conditions and launched in just 6 days!!
A WINCHELSEA 10 was also built using fast resin hardener in warm conditions, to a very good finish and launched in 15 days, 2 weeks earlier than planned.

If you have a small boat or some bits of an old boat you want to sell, why not Sell them with us? We charge a very small one off fee and your ad with a photo will appear on our website until sold. It will also be listed in any other relevant ads we have running or on our sales board at any exhibitions or events we are at.

A great many of our designs have been built by us and DIY builders since 1981 - some many times. They have been improved using feedback from builders and our own ideas.
There are no difficult joints to deal with and we have designed our boats to be as easy to build as possible.
